How to Choose Makeup Mirror Lights by Mirror Size
Mirror width: will the lights fit on both sides?
Measure the full width of your mirror, including the frame, and then measure the free space on both sides. Also consider nearby walls, shelves, storage containers or other objects. Your makeup mirror lights should have enough room to stand securely without blocking your reflection or being hidden behind other items.

How Much Vanity Space Do Makeup Lights Need?
Each Lamps4Makeup light stand has a base measuring 8 × 20 cm. Because every set contains two stands, you need two stable areas on your makeup table or dressing table. Do not measure width only: a narrow vanity may be wide enough overall but still lack enough depth for the mirror base, makeup lights and cosmetics.
- Cut two 8 × 20 cm rectangles from paper or cardboard.
- Place them where you plan to position the makeup lights.
- Check whether your mirror stand, drawers and storage can still be used comfortably.
- Leave enough room for the cables and for adjusting the angle of the lights.
The base measurements are only the starting point. Simply adding two 8 cm widths to the width of your mirror does not guarantee that the full makeup vanity lighting setup will fit. The mirror frame, mirror stand, surrounding furniture and final position of the lights all matter.
Makeup Mirror Light Cables: 0.9 m, 1.5 m or Separate Switches?

0.9 m connecting cable
With the common connecting cable, the two makeup lights are connected and controlled with one switch. Measure the actual cable route from one light stand to the other rather than measuring only the straight-line distance between them. Allow extra length if the cable has to pass behind a mirror stand or other objects.
1.5 m connecting cable
The longer 1.5 m cable can be useful when the two makeup mirror lights need to stand farther apart or when the cable has to go around an obstacle. However, a 1.5 m cable does not mean that every 1.5 m wide mirror will automatically work. Mirror width and cable length are two different measurements.
Two separate switches
The separate-switch option allows each light stand to be controlled individually. Plan the cable route for both sides of your vanity and check the specifications for your chosen model. Do not estimate cable length from product photos alone.
The cable connecting the two light stands and the power cable running toward the socket are not the same thing. With the common-switch configuration, the switch cable is listed as 2 m, while the connecting cable between the lights can be 0.9 m or 1.5 m depending on the selected option.
How Many Lights Do You Need for a Makeup Mirror?
Basic 4+4 includes 8 bulbs, Premium 5+5 includes 10 and PRO 6+6 includes 12. The number of bulbs is one of the differences between the three makeup light sets, but it does not tell you everything about how the lighting will work at your vanity.
The light reaching your face also depends on positioning, distance, the bulbs used and the other lighting in the room. Adding more bulbs cannot compensate for makeup mirror lights that are positioned poorly or hidden behind objects.
